At Westmoor Veterinary Hospital we are proud to offer phacoemulsification as a treatment for cataracts in dogs and cats. This should allow better and quicker results for the patients.
We can also offer second opinion referrals for most other ophthalmological problems including lid, corneal and intraocular surgery as well as medical cases.
Common referrals include:
- Cataract surgery
- Lens luxation
- Cherry eyes
- Corneal ulcers
- Complex lid and corneal problems
- Glaucoma management
- Ocular neoplasia
- Corneal foreign bodies
- Electroretinography (ERG) procedure
Westmoor Veterinary Hospital work alongside Laboklin laboratories who have over 15 years experience in animal genetic testing. They provide an extensive range of genetic tests, covering a large number of breeds. They can test for many genetic and hereditary conditions to help replace some eye tests. Any veterinary surgeon can take the blood sample and the client can then send to the laboratory themselves.
