We are a small animal practice in Devon, first established in 1920. We are passionate about animal care and our skilled team of veterinarians and vet nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals to ensure they are kept fit and healthy throughout their lives. We treat your animals as if they were our own. We are open six days a week and provide our own 24/7 on site emergency care giving great continuity of care for our patients.
Chris is a well respected and longstanding face in the veterinary ophthalmological world. He sits on the panel for BVA/KS/ISDS and is one of only a small number of eye surgeons with the skills and experience to deal with really complex eye issues. Chris gained the RCVS Certificate in Ophthalmology in 1985 and heads up the ophthalmology team at Westmoor, where he has worked for over 40 years and is a well known face in the community.

Michael is a 1995 graduate from the University of Bristol. He gained the RCVS Certificate in Ophthalmology in 2011, and then became recognised by the RCVS as an ‘Advanced Practitioner in Veterinary Ophthalmology’ in 2015. He has recently spent the last few years dedicated to referral-only ophthalmology veterinary work. He is a member of the RCVS British Association of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (BrAVO) and the International Equine Ophthalmology Consortium (IEOC).
Kate Salmon MA VetMB MRCVS GPCertSAM
Kate graduated from Cambridge in 2000 and has worked in general practice ever since. She gained the ESVPS Certificate in Small Animal Medicine in 2006 and since then has had an evolving interest in ophthalmology. She joined Westmoor in January 2016 to work alongside Chris and to continue her ophthalmology training. She is currently studying for the BSAVA Post Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Ophthalmology and is a member of BrAVO.
