A more unusual patient came to visit one of our ophthalmologists recently. Miss Duck came in because her owners were worried that she may have scratched her eye, as she had not been opening it properly.
Fortunately, the problem had improved by the time she arrived, so Kate was able to confirm that there was no injury. We are suspicious that she may have had something in it, such as straw, which had managed to make its own way out.
Birds have fascinating eyes and are very different to our more common canine and feline patients!
