Sunday 3rd September 2017

So not your average start to a Sunday morning for some of our staff…. But they did it!! 4.5 miles in the rain for wingletang's sponsored dog walk! Thank you for representing us and welldone for raising £100 at such short notice! It was great to see all the supporters out in force regardless of the aweful weather. We look forward to seeing how much Wingletang raised throughout the day. But all in all a great community effort for a hard working and lovely charity.

*This event raised £4438.50! Well done everyone that helped*

Along with the sheepdog trials that were running throughout the day. The Whitchurch and Sampford Spiney event had a family dog show and terrier racing. A handful of us went to this event to watch the trials and take part in the show.  This event had a bit of everything including exhibits of stationary engines, vintage tractors, cars and vehicles and historical sheep farming. Demonstration of glass blowing, local craft, produce and charity stalls, refreshments and bar. The trials have been held over the last 40 years as a means for the local farming community to raise funds for the 2 parish churches of Whitchurch and Sampford Spiney.

On this wet and windy Sunday afternoon we went down to the Tavistock Summer Fate to take part in the dog show. The dog show was in aid of The Labrador Rescue Trust and was good fun, with lots of differents dog taking part in the classes. The town fate had lots of stalls and even live music in place to keep everyone entertained. Regardless of the weather, lots of people came to support The Labrador Rescue Trust and it was great to see the community spirit out in force.

We enjoyed a great day out at the formerly known Princetown Dog Show which is now in a brand new location. For the very first time they held the event near the iconic Rock at the Yelverton Airfield. This was a celebration of dogs, get together, trade and charity stalls, refreshments, BBQ and of course a fun dog show which as a group we managed to win a couple of rossettes in all in aid of Forever Hounds Trust.
